Goodbye Ermal
After a month from returning to my home country I finally had time to reflect on my time in Halle. Halle really was a hotpot for me and I was the stew where I was cooked and stirred in so many ways. I got to learn so much about myself. I had the chance to see myself for the first time as a world citizen rather than the poor Albanian me which former societies tried hard to instill. In this bigger picture perspective I managed to recognize many things. In the face of xenophobia and fascism I saw and faced in Germany I learned to appreciate the kindness of my people. In the face of massive support I received from the bubbles of Halle, including and most importantly from my former office, I relearned how to communicate, cooperate and build better. Ultimately, my experience in Halle allowed to recognize that I am not late in life and have deeper appreciation of my upbringing, where I am going and the opportunity to start over, hence why departing from Germany was necessary beyond the heartache of it.
All the best.
Ermal
