Understanding Conflicts – Expanding Skills – Strengthening capacities to act

Basic course on conflict transformation for people who experience racism in Germany

Conflicts are part of everyday life – whether in society, in political groups or in social engagement. They are the engine for change. How we deal with conflicts determines whether a situation takes a turn for the better or for the worse.

Our course is designed for people who experience racism in Germany. Participants learn how to deal with social conflicts in their professional, private and social lives and how to expand their skills in dealing with conflicts constructively.

What can you expect?

  • Professional qualification according to QVB standards: You will receive a recognized basic qualification in the field of conflict transformation, which will facilitate your access to fields of work such as civil conflict transformation (e.g. Civil Peace Service), democracy promotion and political education.

  • Reflection and empowerment: You will work on your own conflict biography and strengthen your skills in dealing with challenging situations – both professionally and privately.

  • Expanding your skills: You will learn how to systemically analyze conflicts and deal with them appropriately – drawing on theories, methods and room for practice.

Trainers:

The course is facilitated by two experienced trainers who experience racism in Germany themselves. Their way of work is trauma-sensitive and critical to societal power structures.
